Saturday Wine Tasting Schedule

Every Saturday afternoon, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., the Black Bear Team hosts a wine-tasting event. The atmosphere is casual and friendly, the wine choices are excellent, and the opportunity to expand your wine horizons is one you shouldn't miss. Come join us!

March 6: 2005 Bordeaux Wines

"One thing I am sure of after twenty-eight years of tasting Bordeaux wines every March is that 2005 can not be compared to any previous vintage."
- Robert Parker of The Wine Advocate

"Bordeaux's 2005 vintage is going to be a record-breaker on every level… The reds are some of the best I have tasted in my career, and they have a unique character. They are rich and powerful, with loads of juicy, opulent, ripe fruit and powerful tannins, yet they also have a wonderful freshness due to their bright, crisp acidities."
- James Suckling - The Wine Spectator

Join us for this very special tasting. As you can see, 2005 treated Bordeaux rather well and this will be one of the last chances you get to taste, buy and keep these gems.

March 13: Flora Springs

Paul Gardner, Northeast Brand Manager for Flora Springs Winery, will be here to taste you on its wonderful wines. Flora Springs is a family endeavor that epitomizes three generations of hard work, dedication and a team effort. The vitality of the family is obvious as they set about the task of growing great grapes and making world-class wine. Even the name Flora Springs has significance – Flora is their mother, and the springs refer to the natural water source on the estate that has flowed uninterrupted through Napa Valley winemaking history.

March 20: Hope Springs Eternal

Saturday, March 20 will be the first day of Spring, and I don’t know about you but I’m done with winter. It may be cold on this day (I’m not a weatherman so I don’t know), and even if I were a weatherman, I still wouldn’t know, but what I can tell you is that we will certainly pretend as if it were warm and sunny outside by tasting some summer wines. Perhaps a rose, a juicy Sauvignon Blanc, or maybe a Gruner Veltliner from Austria. We’re flexible, let’s just hope it doesn’t snow!
